Vaughan has undergone immense changes in transportation over the years to accommodate the addition of high-rises that replaced once empty parcels of land. Residents in Vaughan use York Region transit to get around, which includes Viva and TTC, as well as GO Transit trains and buses.

The Barrie GO Transit Line provides service from Barrie to Union Station, with Rutherford GO Station and Maple GO Station situated in Vaughan. Luckily for Vaughan residents, including residents of Rose Garden City Condos, the Barrie GO Line is undergoing expansion, including all-day, two-way GO train service up to every 15 minutes. This will accommodate the busy lives that Vaughan residents live, and gets them where they need to go with no hassle.

New proposed station stops include Spadina, Bloor-Lansdowne, Caledonia, Kirby, Mulock, and Innisfil. The expansion project aims to build over 1,200 kilometres of facilitated transit with an aim to make sure that over 80% percent of residents live within two kilometres of transit.

As for Rutherford GO Station, construction is expected to be finished in 2022. The upgraded station will include a new station building connected to a 1250 space parking garage, a renovated bus loop and a passenger drop-off/pick-up area that will facilitate traffic flow along Rutherford Rd. For cyclists and pedestrians, a pedestrian bridge over Rutherford Road with dedicated bike lanes increases accessibility to the station. The station will provide smoother connections to York Region Transit.

In terms of speed, residents can also expect to get around faster with uninterrupted service. Now you can sleep in before your commute to work, or pick up new hobbies with the time you’ll be saving on your commutes. Rutherford GO Station will provide more service, including a 15-minute two-way GO service with approximately 6,000 trains per week!

With the Barrie GO Line Expansion and the many bus routes that surround Rose Garden City Condos, getting around has never been faster and more smooth sailing!
